On March 24, a senior delegation from the Embassy of the Republic of Ecuador led by H.E. Mrs. Maria Soledad Cordova, the Ambassador, visited China University of Petroleum, Beijing (CUP). CUP President Jin Yan, and Vice President Zhang Guangqing, along with representatives from the International Office and Ecuadorian students, extended a warm welcome to the delegation.

President Jin extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He highlighted the CUP’s distinctive strengths in the energy sector and reviewed the solid foundation of cooperation between CUP and Ecuador, including the joint establishment of the Confucius Institute and collaborative oil and gas exploration projects. President Jin expressed hope for substantial cooperation in joint scientific research, academic exchanges, and talent cultivation, aiming to offer support for Ecuador’s energy independence and sustainable development. Ambassador Cordova praised CUP’s achievements, emphasized Ecuador’s high regard for cooperation with CUP, and expressed strong expectations for future joint endeavors in the energy sector.

The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as the upcoming visit of the Ecuador University President’s Delegation to China, scholarship programs, and potential collaboration with Petroecuador.
