The 7th edition of the World Petroleum Council Youth Forum was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, from September 29 to October 2. Zhang Guangqing, Vice President of China University of Petroleum (Beijing), was invited to participate in the roundtable " Energy Transition: Dialogue of Generations".


The Youth Forum was supported by the Kazakhstan government and jointly organized by the Association of Oil, Gas and Energy Industry Organizations of Kazakhstan and the World Petroleum Council. Mr. Ibrashev Kenshebek, Director General of the Association of Oil, Gas and Energy Industry Organizations of Kazakhstan, Mr. Wei Yuxiang, Deputy Director General of CNOOC International Central Asia and Director General of the Aktobe Project, and Mr. Maratbek Kabdulin, President of Kazakh-British Technical University, participated in the forum and discussed strengthening university-industry cooperation, transforming modern technical universities, and the role of international cooperation in university development. .


Zhang Guangqing said in his speech that in order to play a role in the green energy transition, energy universities must accurately grasp the global trend of energy development, actively adapt and actively seek change. He explained the university's innovative initiatives related to the energy transition from the aspects of systematically optimizing the layout of disciplines, improving the strategic support of science and technology, and strengthening innovation cooperation and building a community of human destiny.
