The opening ceremony of CUP Online National Graduate Summer School 2020 kicked off on 19th July.
Prof. Jin Yan, CUP President Assistant and Executive Deputy Dean of the Graduate School, Mr. Liu Yu, Head of Media Department of total (China), Robert Pelletier and Denis Francois, professors of Total Professors Association, and CUP faculties attended the online opening ceremony.
Prof. Jin welcomed the students who participated in this summer school and expressed his gratitude to Total for its support and help for the summer school in the past 13 years. He hoped to continue cooperation with Total to provide high-quality exchange and learning platform for talents in petroleum from all over China. Prof. Jin said that CUP has the best oil and gas discipline in China and hoped that all the participated students can learn more about the forefront of industry development during this summer school. Mr. Liu Yu introduced the development strategy of Total company and expressed his gratitude for the CUP preparation and organization of the summer school. He said that Total will support the summer school of CSU for a long term to help the university to cultivate more excellent talents and Total will undertake more social responsibilities.
This summer school lasted five days. Two professors from Total Professors Association and more than ten experts and scholars in Petroleum Engineering and Chemical Engineering have been invited to deliver lectures and provide seminars online. Other academic activities such as reading groups have been organized online as well.
