Research Areas of Research Focus
1Wellbore Stability
Research on wellbore stability related problems such as formation pressure prediction, rock mechanical parameters analysis, in situ stress magnitudes and azimuth analysis, to determine safe mud density window, optimal well trajectory and wellbore structure. Coupling the influence of drilling fluid on rock mechanical properties, investigate wellbore failure mechanism and countermeasures.
2Sand Production Prediction and Sand Control.
Through analyzing wire-logging data for determining the possibility of the reservoir sand production at the onset of production and the critical production pressure drawdown, to determine reasonable well completion pattern. Though analyzing the reservoir petro-physical properties, combining with theoretical model and lab experiments results, select optimal sand control method and parameters.
