Chemistry
1. Educational Objectives
Master's Degree: The candidate students to obtain master degree should possess a broad chemical basis of theoretical knowledge and skills to systematically grasp a particular chemical research expertise, theory and research methods and to understand their current situation and development trend. They should have good scientific literacy and the ability to engage in scientific research. They should also have strong senses of innovation and application awareness. Master a foreign language and skillfully use computers and modern information tools.
2. Core Courses
Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Advanced Inorganic Chemistry, Advanced Organic Chemistry, Structural Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, English, Catalytic Chemistry, and Petro-chemistry.
3. Criteria and degree requirements for graduation (College / Institute request for Chinese students)
The master candidate students of this discipline are not mandatory to obtain quantitative academic innovative results during the study period, but by examining the requirements of the dissertation is to let students receive a comprehensive and systematic training of the research process, by testing the availability of research and practical ability to examine the training quality of the master. Masters should be qualified in the following requirements: The review of master's study and research plan should reflect whether the master step into the cutting-edge areas; masters’ opening reports should focus on examining the abilities of collecting, organizing and reviewing the related references, capacity of designing and studying. For the defense of master thesis, it should be evaluated from various aspects including the selection of research topic, research design, logicality, normativity and workload of the dissertation, etc. Encourage masters in this discipline to publish their research works in the form of journal paper before obtaining their master's degrees.
4.Career prospects
Good academic background and systemic scientific knowledge make our graduates be qualified to work for many requirements. Graduates are ready for not only chemistry, chemical industries, but also have the potentiality for scientific researches. Graduates are both fluent in English and proficient in computer so that they can adapt to the trend of employment against the background of internationalization.
