International Economy and Trade

Introductive
The rapid growth of current economy raised the requirement of qualified talents. In line with the economy development, “multi-functional specialty” and “knowledge as action” becomes a trend in training talents. Consequently, students with both professional knowledge and practical skills will enhance their competitive advantages when hunting for jobs.

International Economy and Trade was formally known as Industrial Foreign Trade, which was founded in 1989. After the discipline adjustment by the Ministry of Education, it was renamed as International Economy and Trade. It was the first undergraduate programs of our university, and one of the bachelor degrees of economics, as well as the earliest major that characterized in “foreign trade” within petroleum industry. International Economy and Trade focuses on its specialty and concepts in energy and internationalization. In order to strengthen students’ language skills, the entire core courses are designed in English-or bilingual-teaching. This program has created good foundations for students to study abroad or to participant international exchange program. Students of International Economy and Trade are well known for their excellent quality. In 2012, the program adjusted its focus to international energy market analysis, according to the employment demands. This adjustment is a new explorer of the program. We believe that as the promotion of “One Belt One Road” strategy will provide promising vision and abundant opportunities.
Objective
Aligning with the university’s principles of student’s cultivation (solid foundation, broad professionals, strong ability, and high quality), and emphasizing internationalization, the major of International Economy and Trade aims to cultivate outstanding and innovative talents that are equipped with comprehensive knowledge of economics and international economy and trade. With strong executive ability and innovation sprit, students should acquire basic skills of energy market analysis practice, and be capable to solve realistic problems regarding international economy and trade and international energy market analysis.

Degree Requirements
International Economy and Trade is a four-year full-time undergraduate program, the Bachelor of Economics degree requires a minimum of 181 credits, as well as bachelor dissertation and oral defense.
