Energy Economics
Introduction
Energy Economy is a new undergraduate program started from 2012. Its origin can be traced back to the 1956, when Beijing Petroleum Institute established the major of Petroleum Industry Economics. Energy economy plays a very important role in current social economic activities. In confront of such complicated international environment, as well as the constantly increasing demands of nation’s energy, our society need a huge amount of high-end talents urgently. China University of Petroleum (Beijing) will take the advantage of energy technology and energy engineering and become a base for energy expertise cultivation, on the basis of abundant research achievements accomplished from energy economy and related fields over the years.
Objective
Energy Economy aims to cultivate outstanding and innovative talents, who master the fundamental theories and methods of economics and management, traditional energy, new energy and environment science. Students after graduation should comprehensively grasp the theories and methods of energy economics, and obtain the capability of working in the fields of energy policy research, energy industry development planning, economical evaluation of energy technology, energy finance, international energy cooperation and etc.

Degree Requirements
Energy Economy is a four-year full-time undergraduate program, the Bachelor of Economics degree requires a minimum of 182 credits, as well as bachelor dissertation and oral defense.
