Master of Translation and Interpreting
Objectives
The program aims to equip students with both theoretical knowledge and practical translation skills. Students who complete the MTI program will:
1. Have a good command of both Chinese and English and be skillful in bilingual communication;
2. Be versed in translation theories and translation skills;
3. Observe professional ethics and show international vision;

Admission requirement
Candidates must meet a set of minimum requirements to be accepted:
1. Get a Bachelor’s degree with a relevant discipline
2. Pass The National Graduate Entrance Examination
3. Pass The Reexamination
Graduation & Degree Requirements
Students have to meet a set of requirements to gain The Master’s degree:
1. Gain 38 credits, among which 25 credits from required courses and academic activities
2. Pass the thesis defense
3. Finish 100,000 words of E-C translation and 50,000 words of C-E translation
Career Prospects
The vast majority of MTI graduates find jobs as professional translators and employees in Oil & Gas industry, mass media industry and translation companies. Some of them teach English in universities and middle schools.
