Shahir Liew, the Vice President of the Universiti Teknologi Petronas visited China University of Petroleum-Beijing on March 27th. Li Yongfeng, the Director of the International Office, and other relevant personnel from the International Office and College of Safe and Off-shore Engineeringattended the meeting.
Li Yongfeng welcomed Vice President’s visit, reviewed the history of cooperation and looked forward to the future cooperation between the two sides. Shahir Liew said that the two universities were important partner for each other and there were many potential cooperation fields to exploit in the future. Then, the two sides held a discussion on the key areas of cooperation in the future, such as the World Energy Universities Network, organizing joint seminars, and building joint research centers. Finally, the two sides agreed on that the two universities would sign a memorandum of cooperation and an agreement of establishing a joint research center, conduct joint seminars. At the same time, the two sides agreed to raise the joint seminar and the joint research center to an important place in the activity plan of the World Universities Network (WEUN).
