In November 2018, by the invitation of the University of Waterloo, the University of Calgary and the University of Alberta, Vice-President Li Gensheng of China University of Petroleum-Beijing and his delegation visited these universities. During the visit, CUPB signed cooperation agreements with them, discussed joint training of double master degree, scientific research cooperation and joint laboratory construction, the progress of the Worldwide Energy University Network, and reached many new intentions for expanding cooperation projects and fields. Heads of Graduate School and International Office accompanied VP's visiting.
At the University of Waterloo, the two sides discussed the Worldwide Energy University Network, summer school and artificial intelligence, and signed a renewal agreement of the memorandum of cooperation between the two universities.
At the University of Calgary, the two sides elaborated the progress of the Worldwide Energy University Network, developing concrete cooperation under that, and jointly conducted bilateral talks. Master's program, student exchanges and other aspects of this project were discussed.
At the University of Alberta, Li Gensheng and his team held talks with Matthias Ruth, vice president who is in charge of scientific research, Huang Cen, associate vice president of scientific research and graduate school, Anne Naeth, vice president of the Institute of Technology, Ying Tsui, and Li Huazhou, associate professors of the Institute of Technology. The two sides discussed the constitution of the Worldwide Energy University Network and the future energy system project.
