On June 13, 2019, Yao Jun, Deputy Secretary-General of the Worldwide Energy University Network (WEUN), visited China University of Petroleum (East China) (UPC), a member of WEUN. Huang Fang, Director of the International Department of UPC, and Zhao Chunlu, Vice-Director of the International Department of UPC, attended the meeting.
Yao Jun firstly conveyed the thanks from Sun Xudong, the Secretary-General of WEUN, to UPC for its active support for WEUN work, and introduced the work activities of the WEUN Secretariat since its establishment and the work schedule in 2019. Huang Fang recalled his deep impression when he attended the founding ceremony of WEUN last year with UPC President Hao Fang. He fully affirmed the work of the WEUN secretariat, especially the newly revised constitution, the establishment of the leadership structure and the rotation system of the chairman of the WEUN. Later, Huang Fang introduced the successful experience of UPC in undergraduate study abroad and international student training. The two sides have made extensive and in-depth cooperation on how to conduct international academic forums, subject competitions and summer schools within the framework of WEUN, highlighting their common advantages in the field of energy and enhancing their international influence and leadership in this field. The two sides have reached a number of cooperation intentions.
