On June 10, 2019, Yao Jun, Deputy Secretary-General of WEUN, visited Xiamen University, a member university of WEUN. Zhang Shengqiang, Vice-Director of the International Department of Xiamen University, and related personnel attended the meeting.
Yao Jun first conveyed the gratitude of Sun Xudong, Secretary-General of the WEUN, for Xiamen University's long-term support for WEUN activities. He also introduced a series of activities of WEUN secretariat since its establishment and its work arrangement in 2019. Zhang Shengqiang recalled the impression he had made when he represented Xiamen University at the founding ceremony of WEUN last year. He fully affirmed the work of WEUN Secretariat and shared Xiamen University's experience in participating in the construction of international alliance in recent years. Subsequently, the two sides made in-depth discussions on how to conduct international academic forums, students going abroad, teacher exchanges and subject competitions under the framework of WEUN, and reached a number of cooperation intentions.
