On November 15, 2018, Professor Cathy Ryan from the University of Calgary, Canada, and his delegation visited The Unconventional Oil and Gas Institute of CUPB and exchanged academic reports. Dean Jiang Zhenxue introduced the basic situation of the institute to the guests. Professor Cathy Ryan had made reports on Groundwater, Bubbles, and Energy implication and Stray methane gas migration around Leaky petroleum Wells report. Subsequently, three CUPB’s professors, Li Zhuo, Chen Haichao and Li Ben, respectively made academic reports on influencing factors and prediction of shale gas adsorption capacity, induced seismic activity of preexisting faults and fracture control, and fracture conductivity. After that, they made a conversation on Research cooperation and postgraduate training.
After the meeting, Professor Cathy Ryan and her delegation visited the laboratory of reservoir reconstruction research center of CUPB. Mr. Li ben, a teacher of the laboratory of reservoir reconstruction research center, introduced to the visiting guests the equipment, characteristic technology and research direction. This academic exchange not only provided new ideas for the academic research for teachers and students, but also for international cultivation of graduate students.
