From October 6 to 13, Han Kefei, Vice-Chancellor of China University of Petroleum-Beijing (CUPB), led a delegation consisting of the faculty to visit two WEUN member universities, University of Rostock in Germany and UniLaSalle University in France, and had a talk with Polytech Tours (France). During the visit, the delegation first introduced the basic information of CUPB, the progress of the Worldwide Energy University Network (WEUN) and its plans. They achieved new cooperation intention with the above universities in student cultivation, resource sharing, academic exchange, scientific research and platform construction.
At University of Rostock, the delegation met Wolfgang Schareck (the President of University of Rostock), and the director of Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and directors of the Laboratory of Piston and Internal Combustion Engine. The two sides made in-depth discussions and reached consensus on strengthening joint research on new energy, mechanical engineering and cooperation on student exchange programs. The delegation also visited the key laboratory of internal combustion engine and the key laboratory of waste and resource management of University of Rostock.
At UniLaSalle University, the delegation met directors of the School of Art and Science, the School of Language and International Culture, International Office and Office of Student Affairs. CUPB and UniLaSalle University discussed the revision of the charter of WEUN and cooperation on student exchange programs, and both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation on geoscience, petroleum engineering, mechanical engineering as well as language and literature.
At Polytech Tours, the delegation met with the leader of the Mundus programme and directors of the Department of Linguistics, Department of Mechanical and System Design and Department of International Relations. Then the delegation visited Polytech Tours’ key laboratory of automation and classes of language teaching, and visited the alumni of CUPB.
