Introduction
The office of the provost provides academic leadership to China University of Petroleum-Beijing, and has responsibility for the undergraduate’s academic affairs. The Provost’s Office collaborates with the deans, department heads, faculty, and students in allocating of teaching resources and safeguarding the quality of teaching.
There are six offices in the Provost’s Office: Student’s Academic Affairs, Teaching Research and Assessment, Practice and Experiment Management, Undergraduate Admission and Registration, International Education and Teaching and Learning Development Center.
Given the broad scope of Academic Affairs, the main tasks of the provost includes curriculum construction, major construction, teaching plan, management of teaching operation, course work plan and selection, management of registration, setting education program abroad, diploma and certificate management, auditing and evaluating of teaching quality, organizing teaching evaluation and award activities, recruiting undergraduate students, and other general affairs within the office.
