On Sunday 9th September, 2018, The College of International Education (CIE) of China University of Petroleum, Beijing
together with International Students Academic Innovation Platform (ISAIP) held the orientation training for new postgraduate
students. The event was particularly to welcome new international students to CUPB. The event kicked off at 2pm and ended at 3:30pm. 

The meeting was opened with a welcome speech from Liangyu Shi where he welcomed the new students and briefed them
about how to have a successful stay at CUPB. Mr. Shi further talked about the scholarships offered by the school to the
continuing students and called upon all students to work hard towards achieving not only good grades in class but also
excelling in whatever they do. Finally, Mr.Shi congratulated the new students for making it to CUPB and assured them of
attaining quality education at CUPB.

On behalf of ISAIP, Gunay and David Cova took on the floor to share their personal experiences in CUPB and explain the roles of ISAIP respectively. They called upon new students especially in the field of Mechanical engineering and ladies to join ISAIP  committee for efficient delivery. 

Special thanks to Andrew Mbigiti for the tremendous role played in explaining step by step how to use the school system to
choose courses with the  help of the supervisor. Students had a chance to interact with the seniors in their respective
disciplines where all their questions were attended to. 

Dulat and Nnenna did rather a commendable job to moderate the event. The meeting ended with an invitation to new students
to attend the Open day activities. The school wishes new students a happy stay at CUPB.
