CUPB Made Great Achievements in the Fifth "Oriental Cup" Foreign Chinese Calligraphy Competition
On December 19, the award ceremony and calligraphy exhibition of the fifth "Oriental Cup" Foreign Chinese Calligraphy Competition were held in Shenzhen Oriental Art Museum.
At the award ceremony, 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes, 20 Excellence Awards, 30 finalists and 1 special honor award were awarded. More than 50 CUPB international students from the Russian Federation, Nigeria, Sudan, Turkmenistan, Yemen, Libya, Pakistan and other countries participated in the competition and submitted 87 calligraphy works to the competition organizing committee. 15 international students of CUPB won awards, including 1 second prize, 1 third prize, 3 excellence awards and 10 finalists. CUPB won the special contribution award again.
SANDRAI CLAUDIA SAADIA ADEL, a 2020 undergraduate from South Sudan, won the second prize for her calligraphy work "Carrying Things With Great Virtue". Sandia was invited to participate in the award ceremony of the competition. For academic reasons, she delivered her award-winning speech remotely in the form of video, expressing her heartfelt thanks to the Organizing Committee of the "Oriental Cup" Calligraphy Competition, CUPB, Mr. Liu Fengyu, a calligraphy teacher and volunteers of CUPB.
Zhong Fanfei, vice chairman of the Oriental Ginza, founder and chairman of Shenzhen Oriental Art Museum, director of China Artists Association, vice chairman of Guangdong Artists Association, secretary and chairman of the Party group of Shenzhen Federation of literary and art circles, Tao Yitao, former deputy secretary of the Party committee of Shenzhen University, Ye Jianjun, member of the Party Working Committee of Xiangmihu street, Futian District, Shenzhen, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. They said that the event showed the humanistic style and positive enthusiasm of international friends, Chinese and foreign cultures are infiltrated and integrated in two-way exchanges and interactions. The competition has become a beautiful cultural card of Shenzhen facing the world. They called for more such activities, and hoped that more friends from all over the world can join in this event and understand the beauty of Chinese traditional culture.
CUPB will continue to actively organize international students to learn the art of calligraphy, perceive Chinese culture, and let more international students understand, appreciate and love Chinese calligraphy.
