College of International Education Held a Series of Activities on Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day

In order to improve the international students' awareness of fire safety and enhance their emergency response ability, the College of International Education held a series of activities on the morning of May 12th. First of all, the International Students' Fire Protection Knowledge Seminar was held in the meeting room 306 of the International Exchange Center. Counselors from the College of International Education gave a lecture on fire safety and disaster prevention and reduction to all international students. Briefing on fire protection knowledge for international students. The heads of the Security Office and the College of International Education participated in the activity. Nearly 100 people including the school emergency response team, international students, staff from the International Student Dormitory, and some college observers participated in the exercise.

The simulated scene of this fire fighting drill was that a pan caught fire in the kitchen on the second floor of Building A of the International Student Dormitory due to accidental cooking by the students.

The smoke at the exercise site triggers the smoke detector to alarm. The school's central control room immediately activates the emergency response plan after receiving the alarm and confirms the fire. The technical support team activates the apartment fire broadcast and sound and light alarm. The evacuation team opens all evacuation doors to guide the international students to evacuate to a safe area.

The miniature fire station crew quickly rushed to the scene of the fire wearing a full set of fire fighting uniforms. The first group of firefighters rushed into the fire with a fire extinguisher to put out the first fire; the second group of firefighters quickly spread out the fire hose and connected the fire hydrant to spray the fire; the medical rescue team rushed into the fire with a stretcher and respirator to rescue the trapped persons.

After the drill, the staff of the Security Office explained, demonstrated and instructed international students to use fire extinguishers and fire blankets on the spot, further emphasizing the daily fire safety precautions of the student apartments.
