CUPB Joined the University Consortium of 21st Century Maritime Silk Road (UCMSR)

The University Consortium of 21st Century Maritime Silk Road (UCMSR), was inaugurated October 22, 2018 in Xiamen, east China's Fujian Province. Mr. Zhu Zhiwen, the Deputy Minister of Education, Mr. Lin Heping, Director of the Education Department of Fujian Province, representative from the Office of the ASEAN Secretariat, and representatives from over 60 universities from 17 countries and regions along the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, attended and witnessed the inauguration ceremony.

Initiated by Xiamen University (XMU), the University Consortium of 21st Century Maritime Silk Road has set up its secretariat on the university's campus. Members include Peking University, the University of Sheffield, Sorbonne University, the University of Melbourne, the Victoria University of Wellington and Nanyang Technological University.

At the University President’s Forum, 8 leaders of the member universities delivered key note speeches and all the attendees took on a through discussion about Entrepreneurship Education and the University-Industry Partnership, Trends in Higher Education: Transformation and Internationalization, and Building World-Class Universities: Perceptions and Thoughts.

 

The mission of the Consortium is to deepen cooperation in higher education and scientific research, share educational resources and promote cultural exchanges.

CUPB is one of the Founding members and UCMSR Executive Council Members.  d on this Consortium, CUPB will strengthen the collaboration with other members and push forward the internationalization strategy of the university as well as the construction of world -class disciplines.
