China University of Petroleum, Beijing Organizes International Students to Join the "National Anti-Fraud Campaign for a Safe Community" Event

To further raise faculty and students’ awareness of preventing telecom and online fraud and strengthen their ability to identify and guard against scams, the "Police Enter Campus: National Anti-Fraud Campaign for a Safe Community" event was recently held at the South Square of the North Campus. Co-hosted by the Security Department of China University of Petroleum, Beijing and Songyuan Police Station under Changping Branch of Beijing Public Security Bureau, the university specially arranged for international students in China to participate in the activity to learn anti-fraud knowledge and boost their safety prevention capabilities.

During the event, police officers from Songyuan Police Station illustrated typical high-incidence cases of telecom and online fraud targeting university students in recent times. Through thematic lectures and on-site Q&A sessions, they popularized anti-fraud know-how among teachers and students present. Staff from the university Security Department distributed anti-fraud leaflets on the spot, helping participants strengthen risk awareness and learn proper emergency responses. International students listened attentively and engaged actively in interactive discussions. Combining their daily study and life experiences, they consulted the police about potential fraud risks involving online payments and social media applications.

In the future , China University of Petroleum, Beijing will deepen coordination and collaboration with local public security authorities, roll out diverse safety education activities on a regular basis, and continuously improve international students’ awareness of risk prevention and self-protection, so as to lay a solid foundation for building a secure, stable, civilized and harmonious campus.
