2018 University of San Francisco Confucius Institute winter camp at CUPB

At 12 o'clock December 19th, 2018, Students from the Confucius Institute at the University of San Francisco in Ecuador successfully arrived at China University of Petroleum, Beijing (CUPB) for the the Confucius Institute Winter Camp at CUPB. The group consisted of 17 Ecuadorian students that will be enrolled in our school for the winter camp for the coming 20 days. The camp’s main content includes Chinese courses and experiencing traditional Chinese culture.

 

At 15:30 pm on December 19th, the opening ceremony for the Winter Camp was held in conference Room 208 of the College of International Education. Prof. Yongxue Zhang, Dean of the College of International Education, and the Deputy Director of International Office and Exchange Center Director Shang Lu attended the ceremony.

Prof. Zhang, expressed a warm welcome and sincere greetings to all the students who visited, encouraged the students to learn Chinese well, and gave a detailed introduction of the schedule for the winter camp, emphasizing that the responsible teachers are well organized for the camp and ready to serve. He concluded by wishing the students a good stay at CUPB and hoped the time spent in CUPB will be that of good memories for the students.

 

Director Lu Shang pointed out that our school has a long-term friendly cooperation with the Confucius Institute at the University of San Francisco in Ecuador. He warmly welcomed the visiting students and further explained the major duties of the International Office which include; representing our university and liaising on behalf of the university with the Confucius Institute and other foreign institutions to develop better cooperation.

 

During the meeting, each student made a self-introduction, interacted with the teachers that attended the ceremony and finally, the Dean of the College of International Education, Prof. Yongxue Zhang, officially announced the opening of the 2018 University of San Francisco Confucius Institute winter camp at CUPB.
