College of International Education of CUPB Organized International Students to Visit the State Key Laboratory
University laboratory is an important base for cultivating high-level talents and carrying out scientific research. In order to help the China University of Petroleum (Beijing) international students have a more in-depth understanding of the laboratory construction, practice teaching, experimental instruments and equipment used, etc., to inspire the international students to think and discuss the spirit of craftsman, College of International Education of China University of Petroleum (Beijing) organized international students to visit the High Pressure Water Jet Drilling and Well Completion Laboratory on October 21. The High Pressure Water Jet Drilling and Completion Laboratory is an important part of the State Key Laboratory of Oil and Gas Resources and Exploration, State Engineering Laboratory of Oil and Gas Drilling Technology and Key Laboratory of Petroleum Engineering of the Ministry of Education. The research team of the laboratory is committed to the theoretical and technical research of high-pressure water jet in petroleum engineering. The main research directions are: new rock breaking mechanism and drilling speed enhancement technology, unconventional reservoir jet modification mechanism and stimulation technology, new jet radial well drilling and completion integration method, complex intelligent drilling and completion theory and technology, theory and technology of efficient exploitation of geothermal resources.
More than 20 students from Yemen, Turkmenistan, Sudan, Ghana and other countries participated in this activity. Dr. Xie Zixiao from the High pressure water Jet Drilling and Completion Laboratory led the international students to visit the jet equipment, completion equipment and various simulation test RIGS in the laboratory, and gave corresponding explanations. Finally, the international students and Dr. Xie Zixiao had a profound exchange on the working principles of various experimental platforms.
This activity deepens international students' understanding of the petroleum engineering field, and enables them to feel their mission and responsibility as future talents in the petroleum industry.
