In order to open the journey of cultural exchange between China and foreign countries, provide a stage for foreign students to learn, exchange and display Chinese calligraphy skills, let more foreigners feel the essence of Chinese calligraphy, experience the charm of Chinese calligraphy, College of International Education of China University of Petroleum (Beijing) held the 5th "Oriental Cup" Foreign Chinese Character Calligraphy Competition in Classroom A306, International Exchange Center, China University of Petroleum (Beijing) on September 16, 2021.

More than 50 international students from the Russian Federation, Nigeria, Sudan, Turkmenistan, Yemen, Libya, Pakistan and other countries participated in the salon. Mr. Liu Fengyu, member of China Petroleum Calligrapher's Association, was specially invited to the salon to guide the students' creation. Earlier, in order to cultivate students' interest in calligraphy, calligraphy appreciation and creation ability of students, broaden the students deep feelings of the path of Chinese traditional culture, the College of International Education of China University of Petroleum (Beijing) also regularly invited volunteers from China University of Petroleum (Beijing) ink association to teach international students calligraphy knowledge. China University of Petroleum (Beijing) submitted 87 calligraphy works to the competition organizing committee.
