On April 7th, Zhang Yongxue, dean of the College of International Education of China University of Petroleum (Beijing), CUPB led a delegation to visit Turkmenistan and together with CNPC International (Turkmenistan) (CNPCIT) jointly held the annual China University of Petroleum (Beijing) Turkmenistan international students entrance exam. Representatives from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Turkmenistan and representatives of the National Gas Company of Turkmenistan participated in administering the written test and oral interviews.

Looking back at the long-term close cooperation between our school and CNPCIT, with the support of CNPCIT, the first batch of 16 international students came to study in CUPB in 2009. In the past ten years, China University of Petroleum (Beijing) has become the most desirable institution for foreign students in Turkmenistan. At present, a total of 166 foreign students study at CUPB and realized their Chinese dream of studying abroad.

From April 9th to 11th, the entrance examination for foreign students of Turkmenistan in China was successfully held in 2019. The Dean Zhang Yongxue introduced the advantages of studying at CUPB and enrollment plans to the parents and students who came to take the test. Li Shuliang, general manager of (CNPCIT), also visited the test site in order to understand the preparations, and had cordial conversations with the candidates taking the test.

A total of 432 candidates took the entrance examination this year, which was divided into two sessions: written and oral interviews. A total of 42 best candidates from the written examination were selected and participated in the interview on April 11. During the interview, the candidates were tested for comprehensive quality and English communication ability. In the end, 10 outstanding students were selected and obtained fully funded scholarships by CNPCIT to study at CUPB.

Since 2009, the International Student Admissions Examination for International Students has enrolled a large number of outstanding students as one of the main admissions selection methods. It has also become an important way for CUPB to continuously consolidate and enhance the quality of international students enrolled at CUPB.
