CUPB Delegation to The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan

At 12 noon on April 11, Zhang Yongxue, dean of the College of International Education of China University of Petroleum, Beijing (CUPB), led a delegation to the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan to meet with the Director of the International Department of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan Mr. Eimura and the Vice President of the International University of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Mr. Batel. The Ministry and the University exchanged views on teacher exchange and personnel training.

Dean Zhang Yongxue pointed out that cooperation in the energy field and energy education is the focus of cooperation between China and Turkmenistan. China University of Petroleum (Beijing) and Turkmenistan have long-term good cooperative relations in education. At present, all energy related departments in Turkmenistan have graduates from CUPB. It was recommended to make use the Chinese government scholarship in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, universities and enterprises of Turkmenistan to jointly promote high-end talent training projects in the oil and gas field. In addition, in order to better carry out cooperation between CUPB and the International Oil and Gas University of Turkmenistan in personnel training and academic exchanges, it was recommended that the two parties sign a Memorandum of Understanding. Representatives from the Ministry of Education, the International Oil and Gas University of Turkmenistan and the National Gas Company of Turkmenistan were also invited to visit CUPB.

Minister Eimura, highly agreed with the proposal of CUPB strengthening cooperation with the Ministry of Education and the universities. Emphasizing that China University of Petroleum has trained a group of high-quality petroleum professionals for Turkmenistan, and expressed gratitude to China University of Petroleum, Beijing and CNPC Amuhe Natural Gas Company for their cooperation and said that they will actively promote China University of Petroleum (Beijing) in terms of cooperation with Turkmenistan in education and training.

Through this meeting, both sides hope that through future cooperation, more outstanding Turkmen youths will have the opportunity to study at China University of Petroleum (Beijing), while the two sides strengthen cooperation in teaching, research, student training, and academic exchanges.
