In April 2020, the Chinese Language Alliance and CTI solicited online creative videos and teaching tips for Chinese learners and test takers around the world to celebrate the 11th United Nations Chinese Language Day. A total of 1,210 videos were collected. After the expert panel review, 312 excellent videos were selected to participate in the first "Chinese Language Day Innovation Video Contest" network selection competition. The organizers will judge the video based on the number of likes received before 17:00 on July 10 on the platform of Bilibili.

The works "Tang Poetry" (video link: https://b23.tv/uOKhM9) by Ayazhan Nurpeiis, an undergraduate in 2019 from Kazakhstan, and "Words to Recite Chinese Poetry" (video link: https://b23.tv/5igOrx) by Chu Ngan Trang, an undergraduate in 2019 from Vietnam, have been selected for the final.
