According to univeristy arrangment, the holiday time of students is from July 12 to August 29, In order to ensure a safe living and learning environment during the holiday, College of International Education would like to remind students to pay attention to the safety tips:

At present, the novel coronavirus pneumonia control is still in the critical stage. Please pay special attention, during the summer vacation, international students cannot leave Beijing without the approval of our University. If you must go to other cities due to special circumstances, you need to submit an leave application to your counsellor of the CIE. You are permitted to leave the university only after the approval.

Continue to take preventive measures against the epidemic, maintain social distance and pay attention to personal hygiene. Avoid going to crowded places to reduce the risk of infection. Pay close attention to the epidemic prevention measures issued by the local government and university, implement them in strict accordance with the requirements.

Avoid drowning. Do not swim in non-swimming areas, and do not swim in deep water area.

Those who have had contact with people from overseas or from medium or high- risk areas in China should report to your counsellor in time and truthfully fill in the relevant information in the daily health report.

Pay attention to use electricity safely. Do not use the prohibited or high-volume electricity appliances, like the electric stove. Do not personally change the electricity wires or structure without any permit. If you find any unusual use of the electricity or appliances, please report to the staff of the International Student Apartment.

All international students must comply with Chinese laws and regulations in addition to our university’s policies. Please return to dormitory before 23:00. Do not let outsiders live in the dormitory. Do not use illegal electrical appliances. Smoking is prohibited indoors. No cooking, burning incense or using open fire in the dormitory room. It is forbidden to break into other schools and other units without permission.

Any violation of national laws, ordinances and statutes will result in legal penalties from the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Justice, and, according to the severity of the offense, students who commit violations will be given a serious warning that could lead to expulsion from China University of Petroleum (Beijing). Please pay a special attention to the common violations such as illegal working with student visa, illegal residence, unruly behaviour due to alcohol, and disturbing others by making noise.

Traffic and travel safety reminders: Please abide by all traffic laws and regulations and pay close attention to traffic safety. Riding motorcycles is not permitted. When riding battery-operated vehicles, do not overspeed or overload. If riding a bicycle, do not go against traffic or run red lights. 

Tips to prevent theft and fraud: Do not carry a lot of cash when going out. When leaving your room, make sure to lock windows. Refuse any form of sales promotion and protect your personal information. Take care of your personal documents, and do not let others use them on your behalf. Always carry a photocopy of your important documents (e.g. passports).

The telecom network fruad is high at present. They use the temptation of low-interest loans and high-return financial management to commit fraud. Please raise your awareness of prevention, don't trust all kinds of network “ways to make money” recommended by others, don’t click on unknown network links, or install unknown APP, especially don’t transfer money to strangers. There is risk for online transaction. Be alert when surfing the Internet!
