Dean’s Message
Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) technologies have recently attracted a great attention due to continuous high oil price, reduced new reserve and increased mature oilfields. Aiming at promoting the research of EOR, China University of Petroleum has founded the Research Institute of Enhanced Oil Recovery (RIEOR) in 2002. There are 18 full-time research staff and more than 200 postgraduate research students in RIEOR now. Different disciplines are combined, including geology, reservoir engineering, applied chemistry engineering. RIEOR has built an integrative scientific research platform for reservoir description, reservoir engineering, interfacial chemistry, chemical flooding, gas flooding, CO2 flooding, foam flooding, profile control and water shut-in, heavy oil development and formation treatment and protection. After many years' efforts, RIEOR have obtained lots of achievements and characteristic techniques in EOR technologies. At present, RIEOR is one of the leading research institutes in EOR technology in China, and some technologies are world-leading.
As the dean of RIEOR, I welcome research scientist who are interested in EOR technology to visit and join our institute, share the ideas and conduct high level together.
