Wang Shangxu, male, born in December 1962 in Beijing, Han nationality, is currently a Distinguished Professor of Changjiang Scholars at China University of Petroleum (Beijing), a second-level professor, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and the director of the Integrated Geophysical Research Center of China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation. Director of the Complex Oil and Gas Reservoir Exploration and Development Engineering Center of the Ministry of Education, Deputy Director of the State Key Laboratory of Oil and Gas Resources and Exploration. Chief expert of seismic model in China National Petroleum Corporation, chief scientist of "973".
He has been engaged in seismic wave propagation theory, seismic wave forward modeling and inversion research for a long time, and has presided over one major basic research project of the National 973 Program, three international cooperation projects, and more than 20 major provincial-level major basic research projects (projects).
