On December 2nd, Prof. Sun Xudong, Executive Deputy Director of the Management Committee of China University of Petroleum-Beijing at Karamay and the Secretary-General of WEUN, paid a visit to China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT), a member of WEUN.
Mr.Zhang Zhenkang, Director of CUMT International Office warmly received the delegation led by Prof. Sun and introduced the situation and development plan of the International Higher Education Alliance for Mining, Energy and Environment (AMEE) initiated by CUMT. Zhang Zhenkang also shared the valuable experiences in AMEE’s construction and in the process of CUMT’s internationalization.Prof.Sun Xudongthen reviewed the work WEUN has done and achievement it has made over the year since its establishment and he appreciated the strong support offered by CUMT as a member of WEUN. Meanwhile he expressed that with many similarities in industrial distribution, discipline construction and the features of internationalization, the two Universities could have further cooperation in the future. The two parties have reached many agreements on the development direction of WEUN and on the forms of cooperation within the framework of WEUN. At the end of the meeting, Sun Xudong invited CUMT to attend the WEUN Secretariat Meeting in 2020.
Staff members from the International Office of CUMT and the Secretariat of WEUN participated in the meeting.
